Saturday’s Daily Piece: New Option for Treating Severe Hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia is serious business. Timely treatment is essential. We now have an additional option for treatment of hypoglycemia. Dasiglucagon (brand name Zegalogue) is a human glucagon analogue that is approved for treatment of severe hypoglycemia in persons with diabetes 6 years of age and older. The three studies assessing efficacy of dasiglucagon included children 6 – 17 years old and adults with type 1 diabetes.
