One of the highlights of my week is serving as a diabetes educator and clinician in an indigent diabetes during pregnancy clinic. I meet woman from many different countries. Most recently, I have had the privilege of working a sweet and kind lady from the Congo. Her husband has been very engaged which has made all the difference during her pregnancy. The highlight of my working with this precious couple was meeting their newborn. Knowing that I had the opportunity to invest in this child’s life before they were born was amazing. What a great way to invest in the life of a precious Mom while also caring for the next generation.
